An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. -----Benjamin Franklin
We have one guarantee - there are no guarantees. Personal safety/self-defense is the best option you have in order to protect yourself if you are attacked but it doesn't promise that you will walk away unharmed or even walk away at all.
There is nothing, no marital art, personal safety/self-defense course or weapon that will work 100%, all of the time. However, as I have previously blogged (Myths=Excuses, Facts=Reality) - personal safety/self-defense is your best option if you find yourself in a physically harmful situation.
The best form of personal safety/self-defense is the kind that you do not need to use. Using awareness and common sense creates preventive personal safety/self-defense which allows you to avoid potential dangerous situations. Why would you purposely put yourself in a possible hostile environment?
You do not use the physical aspect of personal safety/self-defense for the wrong reasons, such as pride, ego or arrogance.
It is imperative that you understand what personal safety/self-defense means ----- defending oneself against a viable threat when there are no other options conceivably exist. You only use the physical aspect of personal safety/self-defense if you have to.
To be explored:

- What potential existing threats are.
- What you need/must pay close attention to.
- How to avoid becoming a possible victim/target.
- What makes you a potential victim/target
