You asked. We listened. Join us on our Blog Talk Radio Show, Voices of Hope on October 27 at 12 Noon. We’ll be joined by self-defense expert Anny Jacoby. We’ll be exploring ways that victims of domestic violence can trick-or-treat a little more safely on Halloween night.

This show was requested when a listener wrote in to ask about staying safe on Halloween night. We took the question to self-defense expert Anny Jacoby. She will be answering questions by taking calls during the show. If you don’t want to ask on the air questions can be emailed in advance to voicesofhope@hopeforhealing.org.

Anny Jacoby will be able to answer general questions about Halloween and domestic violence. She will not be be able to help you create an individualized safety plan. Anny is a self-defense expert and domestic violence survivor who speaks to groups and lectures to educate the public.

For individual specifics, we always suggest consulting with your local domestic violence program to work out an individualized safety plan. An advocate with your local program can advise you on the laws and orders of protection as they pertain to your state. If you are not sure who to contact locally please visit or call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1.800.799. SAFE or www.ndvh.org.
