Nothing To Do With "Numbers"

Whenever we hear the word "epidemic" we associate it with "numbers"; i.e. swine flu cases. Epidemic has nothing to do with "numbers" as you will see below.

EPIDEMIC-When used as a noun; a rapid spread or increase in the occurrence of something/a rapid spread, growth, or development (dictionary.com)
When used as an adjective; extremely prevalent; widespread (dictionary.com)
Well, there we have it; "increase in the occurence of something" and "widespread"=DOMESTIC VIOLENCE/RAPE/ASSAULTS/STALKING-I think that we would all agree that all of the aforementioned is an EPIDEMIC.

Take care and STAY SAFE!
